Seabin Installation at Main Street Dock

Vancouver Fraser Port Authority Environmental Programs is proposing to install a Seabin at Main Street Dock in Vancouver, BC. The Project consists of installing metal brackets to the Main Street Dock using a hand drill, and connecting the Seabin to the brackets. The dimensions of the Seabin are 500 x 500 x 1800 mm and it weighs 55 kg. The Seabin acts as a floating garbage bin skimming the surface of the water by pumping water into the device. Water is sucked in from the surface and passes through a catch bag inside the Seabin, with a submersible water pump capable of displacing 25 LPH (litres per hour), plugged directly into a 110/22V outlet. The water is then pumped back into the area leaving litter and debris trapped in the catch bag to be disposed. The Seabin will be emptied weekly as part of regular maintenance.
