Concrete Batch Plant

Graestone Ready Mix Inc. proposes to construct a concrete batch plant on a site of approximately 10,000 square metres at 9260 Oak Street, Vancouver. Should the project be approved, the ready-mix facility would produce 300 to 400 cubic metres of concrete per day to supply to construction projects throughout Metro Vancouver. All cement handling operations would be fully enclosed, and the plant would use clean aggregate products.

Project works would include the installation of a batch plant comprising a 100 ton and a 75 ton cement silo (approximate heights 21 metres and 19 metres), a mixer, a hopper, aggregate bins and a conveyor. Separate paved parking areas would be created for concrete mix trucks and employees, and small modular buildings, water collection and treatment facilities and utility services would be installed to support operations. The proposed works would also include the demolition and removal of some existing foundations and slabs. It is anticipated that construction would take place over an eight month period.
