Creative Energy Vancouver - District Energy System for Senakw Development

The Senakw Development near downtown Vancouver will include 11 high-rise residential buildings. This project specifically concerns the development's heating system. In particular, this includes an energy plant, a full district energy distribution system, and connections from the buildings to the district energy system. The total project footprint is 3,000 square metres. All project works are taking place on Kitsilano 6 of the Squamish Nation.

The project is related to the Registry Reference Number 81454 which Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), and Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation (CMHC) have made a determination on.

March 7, 2024 – Infrastructure Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. .
