Deroche Creek Long Term Solutions

The Deroche Creek Long-Term Solution Project encompasses Reaches 1, 2 and 3 on the lower alluvial fan. The scope of the Project includes the following major work items, listed from downstream (Reach 1) to upstream (Reach 3) :
• Excavation of a secondary pilot channel in Nicomen Slough where it cuts through the toe of the fan deposit at the downstream extent of Reach 1.
• Construction of two deflection berms extending out from Taylor Rd into Nicomen Slough, located west of the creek in Reach 1 (Downstream of Taylor Rd).
• Construction of a sediment basin in Reach 2 (between Taylor Rd and North Nicomen Rd), including armouring of inlet/ outlet of the basin for grade control, and bank stabilization.
• Armouring of the channel bed at the Taylor Rd. Bridge to prevent future degradation due to the sediment basin.
• Bank stabilization within Reach 3.
