The project involves the construction of a distribution warehouse.

Site preparation activities will include geo-technical studies, surveys, and environmental studies.

Construction activities will generally occur during normal business hours; however, some night work may be required.  Types of activity include survey, civil work, welding, piping, mechanical, electrical, crane work, and general materials handling. 

The project is located landside on the east region of the airport.  The project is fully contained on an existing lease and construction activities are not expected to affect airport operations.  Adjacent public roads may be affected when moving construction materials to the site but will be managed by road traffic flaggers.

The VAA has determined that the proposed project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • Impacts on the rights of Indigenous peoples;
  • Indigenous knowledge;
  • Community knowledge;
  • Comments received from the public; and
  • Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.
