QENTOL,YEN/W_SÁNECSÁNEC Marine Guardians and Simon Fraser University Tumbo Island Passive Acoustic Monitoring Station

The W_SÁNEC Marine Guardians, in collaboration with researchers from Simon Fraser University, intend to install a hydrophone southeast of Tumbo Island to passively monitor marine acoustic signals within the area. The installation includes an underwater hydrophone, intertidal cabling, and a power and recording station ashore.

November 11, 2023 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Parks Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
