Kothari Group Project Description

Project Type: Construction of a 129 Room Hotel
Proponents: Kothari Group
Authority: Victoria Airport Authority (VAA)
Location: Victoria International Airport (YYJ) – Sidney BC
Schedule: March 2023 to March 2025

The project involves the construction of a 3 storey, 129 room hotel. Features of the hotel include a fitness center and pool, a 1500 square foot dividable conference room and a stand-alone restaurant.
Construction activities will generally occur during normal business hours; however, some night work may be required. Types of activity include survey, civil work, welding, piping, mechanical, electrical, crane work, and general materials handling.
The project is located groundside on the east region of the airport and is zoned commercial. The project is fully contained on an existing lease and construction activities are not expected to affect airport operations. Adjacent public roads may be affected when moving construction materials to the site but will be managed by road traffic flaggers.
Kothari Group is an active participant in the hospitality industry in Canada, forming partnerships with many of the world's largest hotel brands.
