Upper Nicola Band - Quilchena Community Centre

  • The Upper Nicola Band (UNB) is proposing to build a Community Centre in the unincorporated community of Quilchena, approximately 25 km northeast of Merritt, BC, and 7 km east of Nicola Lake, and on Nicola Lake Indian Reserve No. 1.  
  • The proposed project is to be located on a lot about 4.9 ha in area.
  • The proponent has applied for funding from Indigenous Services Canada's First Nations Child and Family Services Program for the construction of the proposed community centre.

Latest update

February 21, 2024 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
