United Counties of Leeds and Grenville (UCLG) - County Road 43 Widening over Kemptville Creek and associated road works from County Road 44 to 200m east of Colonnade Drive, Kemptville

The proposed project is to remove the entire existing bridge and build a new 4-lane, 3 span bridge that will extend towards the south.  The two piers associated with the new bridge will be re-located to the water's edge with a clear-span design. The new bridge deck will consist of four 3.3 metre wide lanes, two 3 metre wide multi-use-pathways (one in each direction) to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety, as well as a raised concrete median.  The existing and new bridge spans the Kemptville Creek, which is a tributary of the Rideau Canal.  There will be associated road works for the new bridge from County Road 44 to 200m east of Colonnade Drive.

Project will involve the implementation of various mitigations, and federal advice, that safeguards the environment, and socio-economic and human health aspects in the project area.

The proposed project will undergo a federal Impact Assessment (IA) which is being jointly by the Parks Canada Agency (PCA), Transport Canada (TC), and Infrastructure and Communities Canada (INFC) due to federal land and permit from PCA, permit from TC, and part-funding by INFC.
