Repair of the support system for the vertical gate of the Carillon Canal lock

The Quebec Waterways Field Unit wishes to proceed with the rehabilitation of the support system of the vertical gate of the Carillon Canal lock. The project includes stabilization of the gate, removal of the wheels and lateral guides, removal of the seals, fabrication, and installation of new support bars, repair of existing welds, cleaning, lubrication, and reinstallation of structures and hardware. The work is scheduled for the fall, after the navigation season. The work will require dewatering of the lock and relocation of aquatic fauna is planned to ensure the survival of the individuals present in the lock (fish, turtles).
