Reconstruction of a Section of York Road and Rehabilitation of the Mud Creek Bridge

The Project consists of the reconstruction of York Road from Shannonville Road to Norways Road, and the rehabilitation the Mud Creek Bridge road in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Ontario. The scope of the Project includes reconstructing five (5) kilometres of road by removing the existing surface, upgrading the sub-base and curbs, replacing deficient culverts, improving ditching, and paving the road surface and shoulders. Bridge work will involve repairing girder ends, replacing the concrete and the deck, replacing deck drains and the joint seal, as well as waterproofing and paving. The Project will provide better access to community facilities (e.g., school, well-being centre), improve reliability and safety of the road for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, and support active transportation.

2021-05-27 –  Infrastructure Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
