Carling Campus Parkade

To meet parking demand, PSPC proposes the construction of a new parkade. The parkade will be constructed on top of currently developed parking lots at grade. The current target is to construct a net of 1,500 new stalls. Preliminary sketches show that a six-storey parkade with 2,300 total stalls would add approximately 1,500 new stalls (net increase). The campus would lose approximately 800 at-grade stalls inside the proposed parkade footprint. The planning section of this project includes an assessment of current and future parking needs of the campus. The aim of the project is to construct enough new parking stalls to meet the current and future demands of the site plus anticipated future transit development that may occur in this area. In combination with the densification of the parking near guard house #1 (GH1), a traffic study will be completed to review the traffic circulation of the site to understand the impact of the reduced entrance and egress options as a result of the Carling Campus Project.
