Phase 5 of the dust collector replacement program at the Viterra grain terminal in the port of Montreal

Phase 5 of a multi-year program to improve dust collection at Viterra's grain terminal (Elevator n°4) by replacing the cyclone systems with new higher efficiency bag-house dust collection systems. The scope of work also includes reconfiguration of air flows and the addition of a new dust collector to collect airborne dust generated during truck unloading operations.

July 2nd, 2020 – The Montreal Port Authority (MPA) has determined that the proposed project Phase 5 of the dust collector replacement program at the Viterra grain terminal is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

 

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

  • Water, soil and air pollution prevention
  • Noise pollution prevention
  • Verify the presence of vulnerable or endangered species

 

Therefore, the MPA may perform any duty or function to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
