Healey Falls Ontario Power Generation Station Ice Run (chute) Concrete Repair

OPG is proposing the following work activities:

Part 1 - Concrete repair to the deteriorated ice run chute located between the Healey Falls Generating Station headworks and the Trent River, spillway of the Parks Canada Dam #14 and Dam (weir) #13. The new structure will be approximately 20' longer than the existing structure bringing it back to the original dimensions and be designed to slope down to meet the bedrock at the chute end, repairing the shoreline erosion. The project will include removal and disposal of any remaining demolished/ excavated material from site that was not used for backfilling.

Part 2 – Shoreline repair at ice chute discharge by removing and off-site disposal of all loose/eroded shoreline material. The creek shoreline at the ice run discharge end location to be relined and chute sloped to bedrock, to prevent further erosion from the ice run water. Site access will require a low-level crossing of the east channel of the Trent River downstream from Parks Canada weir. There will be no impact on water levels while performing this work.
