Repair and optimization of the railway bridge at Pie-IX entrance of the Port of Montreal

Montreal Port Authority (MPA) wishes to repair and optimize the railway bridge at the Pie-IX entrance of the Port of Montreal located at the southern end of the Pie-IX Boulevard. The proposed project includes the replacement of the three existing bridge spans, the addition of a fourth span, the widening of the railway network over approximately 500 meters, the addition of three new storage tracks, and the burying of the electrical cables along the railway network.

This project has already been the subject of an APM-initiated posting and a Notice of Determination was published on July 25, 2023. For further information, please refer to the following reference number in this register : 84634.


Latest update

April 22, 2024 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The authorities are considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
