Temporary Floating Docks at Georgetown SCH, Kings County, PEI.

At Georgetown's SCH located in the Town of Georgetown, Kings County, PEI, there is an approved wharf re-construction and service area creation. In order to maintain the continuity of the wharf's structures during re-construction, two floating docks will be used to provide access to the structures 405-408 which previously would have had their access cut off during the proposed work. The new floating docks will go between structures 409 and 407: the first dock will be attached to structure 409 and extend out to the right; the second dock will be attached to the first at a 90 degree angle extending towards structure 407 where it will be attached. Each floating dock will be connected via chain to approximately four concrete blocks that will be resting on the harbour floor in addition to the physical connections to structures 409 and 407. These floating docks will be temporary and be removed along with the concrete anchor bocks, at a later date after the wharf re-construction has been completed.
