Wharf reconstruction at Cape Tormentine

Wharf structure #402 (treated timber pile work structure) and #403 (treated timber cribwork structure) are currently rated as unsafe and structure #404 (steel sheet pilling) is rated as in poor condition. In order to address its deteriorated conditions, Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small craft harbours is planning on replacing existing structure #403 and the inner and middle wharf of structure #402 with a Berlin wharf (Steel H-piles and concrete panels) as well as covering the existing #404 structure with rock. The outer part of structure #402 will have minor repairs.

April 24th, 2023 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small craft harbours] is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
