Wharf and Rock Sea Wall Installation, Wright's Cove, Bedford Basin, NS

The proposed project will involve the removal of a damaged wharf in Wright's Cove Bedford Basin, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The old wharf will be removed by excavator and the new wharf will be installed in the same footprint. The wharf will consist of one shore block, two concrete abutments and a timber crib, a ramp and a float. A rock sea wall will be installed by excavator at the base of the wharf and back filled with quarry rock from directly behind the rock wall.

July 21, 2023 –Transport Canada and the Halifax Port Authority have issued their Notice of Determination and have determined that the proposed Wharf and Rock Sea Wall Installation is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects with mitigation measure as outlined in their evaluation and can therefore proceed..
