Nine Mile Creek Copewall Installation

Wharf structure #404 at Nine Mile Creek SCH is a steel sheet pile (SSP) structure with an asphalt deck. The SSP has deteriorated significantly and is now in need of repair or replacement in order to maintain the safety of the structure. DFO-SCH is proposing to reinforce the SSP by installing a concrete copewall along its face to stabilize and prolong the life of structure 404. The copewall will be poured in place, using the SSP as the back of the concrete forms. The front of the concrete forms will extend out approximately 15 cm into the basin for the entire length of structure #404, which is approximately 55 meters long. The total project footprint is less than 10 m2. There will be no excavation associated with the works.
