Replace Various Fuel Storage Tanks, Aldershot, 14 Wing Greenwood, and Yarmouth Armoury, Nova Scotia

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to remove and replace various fuel storage tanks at DND facilities located at Aldershot, 14 Wing Greenwood and Yarmouth Armoury. Tank capacities range from 300 litres (L) to 35,000 L. Tank contents include diesel, heating oil, gasoline, aviation fuel, or waste oil. Work will also involve replacement of associated piping, pumps, instrumentation, electrical service, tank foundations, as well as civil site works in vicinity of the tanks. Tank replacement activities are anticipated to begin Fall 2022 and be carried out over a period of approximately two years.

August 9, 2022 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
