Souris Ferry Terminal Fixed Stern Ramp, Souris, PE
This is a non-designated project on federal lands or outside Canada. The listed authorities are responsible for the project assessment.
The ferry terminal located in Souris, Prince Edward Island, with its new vessel, the MV Madeleine II, provides year-round ferry transportation for passenger vehicles, trucks, commercial and other highway vehicles, as well as bicycles and pedestrians, between Prince Edward Island and les Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec.
With the arrival of the MV Madelaine II, Transport Canada (TC) had originally proposed modifications to the existing ramp infrastructure located on the North side of the ferry terminal wharf. TC has since changed the scope of this original proposal and now intends to construct a new fixed ramp on the south side of the wharf. This new ramp will be a concrete deck supported by steel piles.
