French River South Landing SCH Wharf Reconstruction

French River South Landing is a class C DFO fishing harbour (Harbour #2026), managed by the French River Harbour Authority. The harbour's existing structures 404, 405 and 406 consist of treated timber piled substructure and fendering system with a reinforced concrete deck. The combined length of structures 404, 405 and 406 is approximately 110 m. The existing ramp 501 is comprised of treated timber substructure and retaining walls with a combination of reinforced concrete and treated timber deck surface. The length of the ramp 501 is approximately 15 m. The existing structures have been barricaded since 2018 as the result of a structural investigation completed in 2017. A new Steel Sheet Pile (SSP) structure with reinforced concrete deck is to be constructed in front of the existing structure representing an increased footprint of approximately 956 m2. The new SSP structure will have a top of deck elevation approximately 2 m higher than the existing structures. All structural components and a portion of retained fill materials from the existing structures are to be removed and disposed of in accordance with provincial and federal legislation.
