Vegetation Management - Bennett Lake Dam & Wolfe Lake Water Retaining Structure

Fundy National Park intends to initiate a vegetation management plan to reduce the potential hazards of excessive vegetation growth (seepage caused by deep roots, cavities created by decaying roots, erosion caused by uprooted trees, competition from undesired vegetation, dense vegetation obscure the ability to observe deficiencies, etc.) on the Bennett Lake Dam and the Wolfe Lake Water Retaining Structure. If left unchecked, the existing vegetation could pose a serious threat to the strength and stabilize to both of these structures. The proposed vegetation management activities will be conducted periodically during the growing season and repeated annually. A Basic Impact Assessment is required to investigate the potential impacts of the proposed vegetation management activities.
