Building Construction - 5th Canadian Division Support Base (CDSB) Gagetown

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project which will involve the mobilization and demobilization of Project personnel, equipment, and materials and construction and reclamation of the temporary laydown area(s); construction of the Ground Based Optical (GBO) System and associated infrastructure, including access road and utilities; operation and regular maintenance of the GBO System throughout the Project life; and, accidents, malfunctions, and unplanned events throughout the Project life. DND is responsible for managing lands in a sustainable manner, and therefore, the Project must demonstrate that sustainable environmental protection and mitigation measures are provided and implemented throughout all of the Project components.

May 15, 2023 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
