Port of Oshawa - East Wharf Storm Water Management and Surfacing

The Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority is proposing to improve the existing storm water management infrastructure and surfacing on the East Wharf at the Port of Oshawa with protential funding from Transport Canada.  The project area is approximately 2 hectares in an irregular shape along the wharf edge, including a relieving platform.

New catch basins and trench drains will convey storm water via existing outfalls to Oshawa Harbour.  The stormwater discharge quality is to be improved via installation of an oil-grit separator (OGS) which will remove suspended solids, debris, fuel, oil, and grease to practical limits.  The resurfacing will consist of paving of the area and installing a concrete overlay over the relieving platform area.
