840 Fife's Bay, Marina Lane, Chemong Lake (Private Landowner) - Shoreline Stabilization, Boat Launch, Dredge

The overall intent of the project is to replace the existing shoreline wall of the property, rehabilitate and stabilize the existing boat launch ramp, and dredge the area leading out from the boat launch.
The project being undertaken at this property is for the following:
• Removal of the existing failed wood timber shore wall.
• Construction of a new upland sloped cobblestone shoreline stabilization approximately 268.28 m in length
• Construction of three upland shoreline steps.
• The newly constructed steps and shoreline stabilization shall not extend onto the bed of the waterway.
• Excavation and back fill of the existing boat launch, stabilizing the sides.
• Dredging an area of 15.24 m x 7.62 m = 116.13 m2.  The current depth of water is approximately 0.60 m and remove a depth of approximately 1.20 m to achieve a total depth of 1.83 m. The total volume of material to be removed and disposed of off site is approximately 139 m³.
• Turbidity curtain will be installed if required.

This project will be assessed with a Basic Impact Assessment (BIA).

February 24, 2022 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Parks Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
