Ontario Waterways, Six Mile Lake Dams Rehabilitation

The project is a complete replacement of the Main Dam and the rehabilitation of the Back Channel Dam. The main work involves the complete demolition of the existing main dam, construction of a new dam in the same location and orientation and complete rehabilitation of the Back Channel Dam. The capacity of the main dam will be increased, and the sluice width standardized by converting the 3.05m sluice into a 6.1m wide sluice, with 3 overflow spillway sections. Parks Canada owns the assets as well as adjacent property. Associated works include clearing for laydown and project staging and construction of temporary cofferdams.
