Private Residence - Trent-Severn Waterway - 96 Hewall Trail, Katchewanooka Lake - Dredge and Launch Ramp

The overall intent of this project is to dredge an area of 28.1 m2 and install a launch ramp with an area of 39.1 m2 to accommodate the launching of a boat. The project components include:

- Dredge an area of 3.7 m x 7.6 m = 28.1 m2. The existing water depth in the proposed dredge area is 0.15 – 0.2 m which will be dredged and filled with aggregate to a depth of 0.76 m.

- Dredging will be completed from land using a long reach excavator fitted with a 1-yard bucket.

- If conditions in the work area are wet, a turbidity curtain will be installed and maintain around the entire work area. Alternatively, work will be completed when the lake is frozen to bottom of the bed and can be completed under dry conditions.

- A launch ramp will be installed over the dredged portion of lake bottom, encompassing an area of 4.3 m x 9.1 m = 39.1 m2.

- The existing substrate on site is a soft bottom. The in-water portion of the launch ramp will be an aggregate mixture of 1 in – 2 in diameter clean stone.

- Dredge material shall be collected via dump trucks and disposed of on agricultural land.

- There is sparse aquatic vegetation present in the dredge area including submergent and emergent species, with greater densities situated to the immediate south of the proposed dredge.

- No natural features including sunken rock, log, or stumps require removal for the dredge.
