Routine Vegetation Maintenance at Terra Nova Golf Resort and Community

Ongoing vegetation management within the portion of the Terra Nova Golf Resort that occurs within Terra Nova National Park is required to ensure adequate sightlines and the integrity of fairways, greens and travel corridors. For the scope of this Impact Assessment (IA), vegetation management is defined as the removal and disposal of shrubs, alders, fallen trees and occasional standing trees that impair the condition of the facility. Vegetation maintenance will not include an expansion of the existing ‘footprint' area or the application of herbicides for the purposes of controlling encroaching vegetation. Vegetation removal will be the responsibility of the proponent (or a contractor) provided that they adhere to the mitigations contained within this IA. Equipment used will include hand-held chainsaws, brush-saws, and chippers and will not include heavy equipment.
