Marystown RCMP Detachment Replacement Project

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police owns the Marystown Detachment and provides policing services to several rural communities on the Burin Peninsula. The Detachment is located at 87 McGettigan Blvd, in Marystown, NL. The RCMP is proposing to construct a new Detachment at the same address, at the rear of the current Detachment. The property is 0.9545 ha and the new building size will be 1034 square meters. This project will require excavation, vegetation removal, construction of new building, paving and landscaping. Once construction of the new building is complete, the current detachment will be demolished. The new detachment will have a concrete foundation and will likely be constructed of a steel skeleton, concrete brick façade and a steel framed roof.

7 June 2020 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
