Harbour Redevelopment at Ship Cove SCH, NL

The project includes the demolition of all existing infrastructure and the construction of a new marginal wharf, two (2) new finger piers and a new access to site.  The demolition includes the removal and disposal of existing finger and the removal and stockpiling of existing shore protection/armour stone for reuse on site.  The new infrastructure includes the construction of 47 metre (m) long timber crib marginal wharf, 30 m long timber crib finger pier and 96 m long timber crib finger pier.  The inner basin of the harbour will be dredged to -4.5 m.  The estimated dredge quantity is 350 m3.  To aid access to the facility, a new access will be constructed to the west of the site that will connect the main town road to the harbour.

January 9, 2026 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Federal Authorities are considering comments received to date to inform its determination on whether carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
