Floating Dock Reconstruction, Wesleyville (Brookfield), NL

DFO, Small Craft Harbour intends to complete a floating dock reconstruction in Wesleyville, NL. The project will involve the demolition of two existing floating docks, a section of boardwalk and a timber access crib located at a Small Craft Harbours site in Wesleyville. Armourstone protection will be placed in the decommissioned footprint. The project will also involve the construction of a new treated timber access crib and installation of two new floating docks at another site in Wesleyville. The floating docks will be anchored in place using concrete anchor blocks. The new access crib (3.66m x 3.66m = 13.4 m2) will be installed at the end of an existing access road that will be upgraded as part of the contract. There will be some rock removal/blasting/dredging along a ridge of bedrock adjacent to the floating docks to provide adequate draft for vessels utilizing the facility. The footprint from this blasting and rock removal work will be 176 m2 . Armourstone will be installed along one side of the access crib, and filter stone along the other side to provide protection.
