Entrance Washrooms Sanitary Rehabilitations
This is a non-designated project on federal lands or outside Canada. The listed authorities are responsible for the project assessment.
The currently installed system does not meet operational needs at these high volume highway locations. Ongoing maintenance issues with the public washrooms located at the Terra Nova National Park entrances on Route NL-1 have been identified. In order to address issues with the composting toilets and reduce maintenance relating to usage above intended capacity, it is expected that new onsite wastewater treatment and disposal systems will be required for each site. The scope of this project is to develop drilled well water source & septic field for North & South Entry Washrooms. Upgrade these washrooms with barrier free entry door operators, flush toilets, sinks & septic system.
