Wharf Reconstruction at St. Bride's SCH, Newfoundland and Labrador

The proposed project at St. Bride's SCH includes the reconstruction of the northwestern wharf. This includes the demolition and removal of the existing wharf, and the subsequent construction of the replacement. The demolition phase of the project will include the removal of the existing wharf, a concrete slab located at the elbow of the wharf, and armourstone to accommodate the new work. The armourstone will later be re-installed around the new wharf. The new wharf will occupy the same footprint as the existing wharf and be constructed of treated timber with a reinforced concrete deck, structural deck, and a spray wall. The headblock section of the wharf on the seaward side, will be filled with concrete. The northside of the headblock will have 10-12 tonne of armour stone installed along the full length. Installation of associated hardware for the new wharf includes: mooring cleats, structural timber for coping, wheelguard, wheelguard blocking, fenders, and ladders. Additionally, two sheds will be removed and re-instated and the electrical enclosure will be replaced with a new electrical shed. All three sheds will be relocated a few meters away from their original locations.
