The applicant proposes to carry out necessary capital work to the newly constructed marina facility to make it ready for the 2020 season and to establish a major tourism draw for the area.  These improvements to the new facility will provide necessary accessibility to all boaters, will add safety measures and will increase capacity for usage both by local residents and visitors to the area.

Notice of Determination

Moncton, NB – October 19, 2020 – When the project was originally received by Public Service Procurement Canada, it was identified that the proposed project was being carried out on federal lands and that an assessment under Section 82 of the Impact Assessment Act (IAA) was required. To date, this process has included the required public posting on the Impact Assessment Registry website. However, As of September 30, 2020, it is understood that the property has since been transferred out of the federal inventory. Because the property is no longer considered federal lands, the definition of a Project under the IAA is not met and therefore a determination of significance of adverse environmental effects is not required under Section 82 of the IAA. As such, the IAA no longer applies to this project and the project can proceed without further assessment under the IAA.
