VHF tower construction, Burgeo, Newfoundland Labrador

The proposed project includes construction of an unstaffed, remote VHF communications tower and associated infrastructure along Route 480 in Burgeo, NL. The project will be constructed on a 4 hectare (ha) site accessed by a 300 metre (m) long road branching off the west side of Route 480. The access road is approximately 10.9 kilometres (km) north of the community of Burgeo, NL. Associated infrastructure includes the construction of two buildings, a radio equipment storage building and a generator building. The site was selected based on elevation to allow for acceptable VHF radio coverage of the south coast of NL.
