Emerald Lake Lodge Water Permit

Emerald Lake Lodge is applying for a new water permit for the continuation of water withdrawal from Emerald Lake for hotel operations and firefighting purposes. The water withdrawal system uses existing infrastructure to extract, treat and distribute water to the main lodge, guest cabins and staff housing. Existing infrastructure includes a surface water intake in Emerald Lake, a water treatment system and a system of water distribution and wastewater collection lines. Wastewater is treated on site which has a tertiary treatment system that has been designed to meet the Parks Canada Leadership Targets for treated effluent quality. A project assessment is being undertaken to support their application for a new water permit.
