Trans Mountain Corporation Sleepy Hollow Line Replacement

This project will be assessed with a Basic Impact Assessment.
Trans Mountain plans to complete a pipe replacement on the inactive 24-inch Trans Mountain Pipeline along an approximately 1 km segment in Jasper National Park. The pipe replacement segment is located between Hazel Avenue and Connaught Drive, south of Sleepy Hollow Road (KP 377.695 to KP 378.9) near the Municipality of Jasper. The Project requires the installation of a heavier wall pipe to meet the higher-class location requirement for the new construction of Hostel International Jasper. Equipment will be utilized to conduct site preparation, pipeline excavation, coating, pipe handling, stringing, and welding of new pipe, support services, re-coating, dewatering, backfill, cleanup work and reclamation.

October 24, 2021 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Parks Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
