Wildfire Risk Reduction Maintenance Activities - Yoho, Kootenay, and Banff National Parks (2023-2034)

The Wildfire Risk Reduction maintenance project is proposed for sites within Yoho, Banff, and Kootenay national parks where vegetation has been previously treated. Re-treatment is needed to maintain these areas to sustain the benefits of the original Wildfire Risk Reduction treatments adjacent to commercial accommodations and Parks Canada facilities. Regenerated vegetation within the footprint of the original treatments will be reduced using FireSmart principles by use of manual and mechanical vegetation management.
