New Staff Campground for Riding Mountain National Park

Riding Mountain Field Unit is proposing to construct a new seasonal campground for Parks Canada staff.  The location of the campground will near the east end of Ta-Wa-Pit Drive.  The project components include: the creation of 12 gravel pads for tents and trailers, a combination kitchen/bathroom structure with storage measuring approximately 14' by 24' that will be moved in to the site, and the inclusion of picnic tables, fire boxes and a garbage receptacle.  The project may also include construction of an electric fence around the perimeter of the campground to mitigate human-bear conflict concerns.
