Wasagaming Wildfire Risk Reduction 2023-2026

Wildfire risk reduction vegetation work will take place around Wasagaming for the next three winters (Nov to March). The vegetation work will include plantation removal including full removal of conifer and leaving deciduous where possible.  In the North Shore area downed woody debris will be cleared off the forest floor, crown base of coniferous trees trimmed to 2 m above ground and thinning of coniferous trees so that crowns to not touch or overlap, and as many deciduous trees as possible will be left.
