2023 Launch Ramp Reconstruction – Riverton, Manitoba

Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Craft Harbours (SCH) is responsible for maintaining a safe and accessible harbour in Riverton, MB. Repairs to the launch ramp at the Riverton Harbour site are required in order to maintain a safe and functioning harbour.

The 20 existing concrete ramp pads  and slab will be removed and disposed of off-site. The installation of approximately twenty (20) new pre-cast concrete pads on a descending gradient into the water to create a new launch ramp over the existing footprint. The ramp orientation will be the same as the existing ramp.

The contractor will use a combination of heavy equipment (likely an excavator and skidsteer) and hand tools to complete the repairs.

October 17, 2023 –  Fisheries and Oceans Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
