Installation of Running Trail - Canadian Forces Base Shilo

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which proposes the construction of a walking/running trail around the perimeter of the Base following the path of the existing perimeter security fence. This will be a gravel trail. The trail is to be located 25 cm inside of the security fence and will be approximate 3m wide. The running path will be built in several stages with the final length of the trail to match the length of the security fence at approximately 9 km in length. The first 2 phases are planned for 2022-2023 and include the sections from Horsham Road north to the railway and east to Engineer Road. Subsequent phases of construction have not been scheduled at this time and are subject to funding approvals.
