Jackfish Creek Prescribed Fire

The Jackfish Creek Prescribed Fire (PF) area is located near Lake Audy, extending north along the Strathclair Trail to the Kinnis Meadows, east to the main Hydro Bipole line, and Jackfish Creek completing the southern boundary. The PF will target an area of approximately 2,000 hectares of grassland/aspen parkland and 2,000-hectares of grassland/boreal mixedwood. The objectives of the PF are to restore natural fire cycles in the area and to improve the ecological integrity of grassland habitat within the park.
