Smallmouth Bass Project

Smallmouth bass were detected in Clear Lake by visitors in August, 2020. Smallmouth bass are not native to Clear Lake and may outcompete native species for food and habitat resources. Limiting the establishment of Smallmouth bass is a priority, aimed at minimizing potential impacts to native species and natural ecosystem processes of Clear Lake.
