Construction of a building and development of infrastructures for the operation of a multidisciplinary experimental site in civil security at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) - Notice of Determination

Quebec Airport Authority must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Quebec Airport Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The project consists of constructing a building of 2 floors with an area of 1 859 m2 intended for the operation of its research center (Centre de recherche et d'innovation en sécurité civile - Centre RISC) and to set up realistic experimentation and simulation stations (intervention on railway tracks, flexible premises (hospital, school, etc.), fire simulations, etc.).

Following activities will be carried out:

Site preparation (excavation, backfilling, etc.), construction of the building and infrastructure (realistic experimentation and simulation stations and parking).

Construction work is scheduled for 2023 for an opening in 2024.

Target site :

The work site is located within the limits of YQB territory. 

Site bounded by route de l'Aéroport with access on the 8e Avenue de l'Aéroport.

Approximate size of the land parcel is 18 600 m2.
