Irish Creek/Head of the Lake Water System Upgrades

The main Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) community is situated on the shores surrounding the northern most arm of Okanagan lake and within IR #1. OKIB is currently conducting a Water Source Feasibility Study for the Irish Creek/ HOL water system to investigate various options to improve water quality and assess the viability of the different options for water source, treatment, storage and distribution for the community water system. The general approach is outlined below.

Water supply & treatment from Six Mile/Bradley Creek water system .
•    Interconnected reservoir storage/fire protection.
•    Abandon existing Irish Creek/ HOL wells.
•    Water supply & treatment from Six Mile/Bradley Creek water system.
•    Interconnect Area watermain and potential booster station.
•    Reservoirs at each system for fire flow.

The entire system will be constructed within OKIB's IR #1 and the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure's road ROW.
