BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure Highway 1 Four-Laning

The BC Ministry of Transportation is seeking a s.28(2) permit from Indigenous Services Canada to four-lane Highway 1 through North Bay 5 of Little Shuswap Lake Band.   

Key features of the project include:

  • 4-laning of approximately 2.5 km of Highway 1
  • New frontage roads and interchanges
  • Replacement of the Tappen Overpass of CP rail.
  • Wetland compensation
  • Replacement of existing undersized creek culvert crossings with new bridge (Tappen Creek) or culvert structures (White Creek)
