Whispering Pines IR#4 Watermain Extension

The scope of work includes the extension of 1.9 km length of 150mm of watermain to service five homes and Band Office. The Band Office and nearby homes are currently not connected to the community water system and have poor water quality.

An Environmental Review-Project Description was completed which identifies the potential for several species at risk to be present in the project area.

A side channel of the North Thompson River is within 30 m of the project at the south-east corner near the Band Office.

The North Thompson River is east of the study area. It runs parallel to the eastern boundary of Whispering Pines IR #4.

Recommended construction mitigation measures should be reviewed and followed including conducting ground clearing work outside of the nesting season, and conducting a survey for potential badger burrows prior to construction.

WPCIB was engaged to provide archaeological recommendations for the project area and confirmed the probability of archaeologically significant sites is low. Archaeological monitoring is recommended during construction.

Note: Based on the information provided by Whispering Pines/ Clinton Indian Band and their consultant, Urban System.
