Magnetawan First Nation - Wastewater System Upgrades

Magnetawan First Nation is proposing a Wastewater Treatment System Upgrades Project at their community. The proposed physical activities for the project will include: site preparation; replacement of sewage pumping structures and construction of a new wastewater treatment system; installation of a new sanitary forcemain; decommissioning the original wastewater treatment plant; and site restoration.


Latest update

November 14, 2023 - The public comment period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause adverse environmental effects.

April 28, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until May 28, 2023 respecting the determination.
